The Association of American Railroads (AAR) is the world's leading railroad policy, research and technology organization focusing on the safety and productivity of rail carriers. AAR members include the major freight railroads of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as Amtrak. As the standard setting organization for North America's railroads, AAR is also focused on improving the safety and productivity of rail transportation.
The Railway Association of Canada represents some 50 goods, tourist, commuter and intercity Rail businesses in Canada, their more than 34,000 employees and has more than 60 associate member suppliers and partners. RAC acts to inform officials, develop programs, policies and resources and communicate with the public and media to strengthen the role and capacity of Rail to deliver leading services that are economically viable, socially cohesive, future focused and environmentally sustainable.
Operation Lifesaver, is a non-profit organization providing public education programs to prevent collisions, injuries and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway-rail grade crossings.
Through TRANSCAER? – Transportation Community Awareness and Emergency Response – members and partners work with communities and emergency responders to make sure they are informed about the products moving through their area, and are prepared to respond to potential incidents involving dangerous goods.
